Today I climbed a mountain!

Springer Mtn to be exact.  It’s the southern most tip of the Appalachian Trail and today I did it without boots because I pulled a fast one on myself and left them by the front door.        (I’m so smooth)

Don’t look at me in that tone of voice… Believe it, or not, they were seriously the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn on a hike! Not sure if that says good things about Crocs or horrible things about my now insufficient “appropriate” boots.  On the upside, I will consider it as training for minimalist footwear.

This is the third year I’ve made this hike with a wonderful group of women, of which I am a proud member.
We are called the Trail Dames. And we are here to prove to ourselves and the world that there is no such thing as a woman who is too curvy, too slow, or to inexperienced to reach the sky and dance the “Dance of the Real Woman”.  Today was our 4th birthday.  We hiked to where it all began and opened a bottle of champagne.  Added cake and it was a partay.  On a mountain.

Be jealous.
